Become a Race Day Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills and we are always in need of volunteers to help out on race days. So why not give it a go? We need infield volunteers as well as people for general around the track rolls. We provide training for all positions and you will be supervised by our more experienced volunteers on race day. We also feed you on race night!

The requirement to volunteer on race day are:
  • To wear no open footwear, all tops/shirts must have sleeves and cover the upper torso and all legs must be covered passed the knees.
  • Not be under the influence, carrying or consumption of intoxicating liquor or illegal drugs.
  • People over the age of 18 are to have a Working with Children's check/card, they are simple to get and you will just need it before you can volunteer at a race meet.
At the moment you don't need to be a member but it is preferred and as a member you will be assigned the better jobs.

Race Day Jobs!

Canteen - We have both the main canteen and the Pit's BBQ, these positionsrequire people to cook the food and serve the customers.

Main gate - Here we need people to sell entry ticket, programs and track the number of people coming through the gates.

Pit Box - The pit box is where the drivers register and pay their fees. This job requires people to assist the drivers in filling in the correct paperwork, collecting their fees and answering questions.

General Hand - This is a good starting point as you could end up helping in any area that you have the skills for and you will get to see how a speedway operates as you will be moved around as needed.

Commentary team - Do you like the sound of your own voice? This might be the spot for you. You get to talk to the crowd and let them know what it happening around the track.

Social Media - We need people to talk with the people that use our Facebook page on race night but also to update it with results and photos.

Infield Crew - The infield crew is most of the people that you see in the center of the track, a select few with make it to push car drivers but the main roll is to you assist with maintaining a safe race track.
